A former attorney who specialized in residential and commercial real estate matters as well as tax and estate planning, Klaus Axen has served as CEO of Innovative Senior Living since 2003. In addition to his varied professional pursuits, Klaus Axen is an avid golfer who enjoys playing and watching the sport.

One of the biggest golf events of the year was held from April 5 to 8, as the Masters Tournament captured the attention of millions worldwide. More than 13 million people watched the final round on Sunday, which represented an 18 percent increase from the year prior and the highest figure since 2015, when Tiger Woods last participated. Woods competed in the 2018 tournament, but was well out of contention by the final round. This year’s champion was Patrick Reed, who scored a one-stroke victory over Rickie Fowler to win his first major and sixth tournament of his career. He had previously won The Barclays, the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, the Humana Challenge, the Cadillac Championship, and the Wyndham Championship.

Fowler and Jordan Spieth, who finished third, shot final-round scores of 67 and 64 respectively to apply pressure to Reed, but the latter drained a three-foot putt on the 18th hole for par to secure the championship.

For 15 years, Klaus Axen has served as the CEO of Innovative Senior Living, Inc. Klaus Axen continues to guide the development of senior housing options, including assisted living properties.

Assisted living provides an option for older adults who need support with certain activities of daily living, such as cooking or bathing, but who are otherwise able to function independently. While prolonging their autonomy, such individuals can maintain more privacy than they would likely have in a nursing home. The assisted living facility also offers a more home-like atmosphere that includes inviting dining rooms and other common areas where neighbors can gather and socialize.

The community of an assisted living facility helps to guard against isolation and depression, both of which are risks among members of the elderly population who live alone. Additionally, while an older adult at home may be prone to falls as a result of mobility challenges, assisted living offers the support of staff members who watch out for residents’ safety. Staff members also provide basic cleaning and housekeeping services, so that residents’ living space remains clean and hygienic.

Residents of assisted living receive all of these benefits while remaining connected to their loved ones. Meanwhile, family and friends can visit and stay involved in the resident’s life and ensure that his or her needs are being met without taking on such support tasks as transportation and housekeeping.
